Description

Aircraft Preparer-Assemblers are responsible for transforming the design-definition file into a manufacturing file for the assembly workshops. They play a key role in preparing and planning assembly operations, while ensuring compliance with all technical, quality, budget and deadline requirements.

Tasks

  • Transforming the design-definition file into a manufacturing file for the assembly workshops.
  • Analysing and translating the data provided by the Design Office.
  • Drawing up optimised work instructions or technical sheets that comply with quality standards, costs and deadlines.
  • Defining manufacturing and assembly methods and resources (processes, tools, lead times).
  • Monitoring and providing technical support to the assembly workshops.
  • Liaising with the Quality Department and Design Office to resolve any technical problems.

Goals

The aim of this training course is to give trainees the skills needed to become an Aircraft Preparer-Assembler, in order to validate the nine competences required for the French Professional Qualification in Metallurgy (CQPM) "Aircraft Preparer Assembler" - MQ 2014 04 31/44 0299. At the end of the course, trainees will be able to:

  • Check that the design-definition file is complete and valid
  • Prepare and exploit the information in the design-definition file
  • Draw up the sequence of steps for aircraft assembly
  • Identify the material resources required for an aircraft assembly
  • Identify the manpower required to carry out an aircraft assembly
  • Formally establish the production assembly processes/sequences required to carry out an aircraft assembly
  • Validate the assembly process
  • Provide technical support to assembly teams
  • Provide corrective solutions to technical problems

Prerequisites

  • Hold a level-5 technical diploma or equivalent (2 years post Baccalaureate).
  • Wish to retrain for work in the field of Manufacturing Engineering
  • Technical English
